Symbology Story

PERSEPHONE

Persephone, also known as Kore, was the ancient Greek Goddess of Spring and fertility, as well as the counterpart of Hades, ancient Greek God of the underworld. Ultimately, she spent half her time in the underworld with her husband, and the other half on earth with her mother. Just like a seed, Persephone spent the cold and dark Autumn and Winter months in the underworld, when the land was infertile and her mother grieved her absence. When she returned to her mother in the Spring, there was a return of light and warmth, as the earth rejoiced in abundance for the months of Spring and Summer.

The Spring Equinox marked Persephone’s annual return from the underworld, and the Autumn Equinox, her descent back into the underworld. She is a representation of the seasonal cycles, and of life and death. Death is a natural part of the cycle of life and does not only represent physical death, but also the death of old trauma and pain, resulting in powerful healing. Reinvention and rebirth, resulting from transformation and change is the reward for the “death” of the “old" you, and co-exists in this natural and eternal process.

The symbol representing Persephone consists of a feather travelling through a portal to another dimension, and is representative of humanity’s current transition with “one foot in the third-dimension and one foot in the fourth-dimension.” This strong and symbolic link to Persephone serves as a demonstration of the fundamental principle of “as above, so below,” and the notion of each of us being microcosms that exist within a larger macrocosm.

The feather depicts good luck and also indicates the soul’s journey, while the portal was inspired by the genesa crystal, which serves as the ascension symbol synonymous with female energy specifically. The genesa crystal usually has 4 Borromean rings, with 6 rounded protrusions, reminding us of the 6-pointed Merkabah star, the immortal vessel of our soul. The Borromean rings represent the Law of Cause and Effect, one of the natural laws of the universe falling under the Law of One. As we move into the fourth-dimension, there is less distance between our thoughts and the matter surrounding us, enabling a faster manifestation process. The time has come to ready ourselves to face the consequences of our thoughts.

The natural and eternal cycle of death and rebirth is seeking you. It’s time to let go of the old, and ask yourself in earnest what or whom you need to leave behind to pursue the real you.
